Eddie V’s is an ocean view, upscale restaurant in La Jolla, with a lovely live jazz band playing. Their happy hour is pretty affordable, every day from 4-7pm. We were surrounded by hermes, pursed-lips housewives, and men rocking suits and rolex watches, so make sure you come pretty dressed, haha. A glass of the pinot grigio was $8 and it perfectly paired with the happy hour oysters we ordered that were $2 each. The happy hour pinot grigio I highly recommend, it’s called the White Scape it was actually really yummy by itself- it had a nice dry finish to it and not too sweet, great with any sort of shellfish or seafood. I lurrrrve their ocean view. Kind of pricey if you just go for dinner, so for those who want to save money but still want to enjoy this restaurant, go during happy hour! Prices range from 8-15 per dish.
You’re paying for this view, so gorg!
The ahi tuna tartare was kind of small….we had so much cracker left…still fresh though and it tasted great with the grapefruit and orange. $15, I wouldn’t get it for the price, the portion size was too small for two.
Eddie’s Rockerfeller had artichoke and spinach fondue was delicious..
The fish tacos were my favorite, with the house made tortillas and the corn pico mixed well with the fish. Nom nom.
We ordered a mix of east and west coast oysters! I kept getting a short-lived pain and sinus clearing from the dollops of horseradish I put on each oyster. The oysters were fresh, clean and perfect will go perfectly with a glass of white or sparkling wine. Remember, shellfish=WHITE WINE!
Final tip: Eat upstairs and go early to snag a spot! If not, make sure to make reservations :).
