JRDN, the signature restaurant of the luxury hotel Tower23, brings you a unique and upscale ocean view dining experience. We arrived right at sunset when you can see hundreds of people stop and get a glimpse of the breathtaking panoramic sunset ocean view. We started our night with a glass of dry, chilled Rosé while glancing over at the new sushi kitchen and seeing what we should order from the “raw bar.” My eyes were scanning the menu Executive Chef Dave Warner created, deciding what I should order: the sushi rolls, sashimi, poke bowl…everything looked so delicious.
We decided to choose the “Build Your Own Poke Bowl” and selected ahi tuna, sushi rice, seaweed salad, jalapenos and vinaigrette sauce. This was the most luxurious poke bowl I’ve ever had, you can tell from the photo how fresh so fish was.
We couldn’t decide which sushi/seafood to order, so our server recommended the Chef’s Plate, which was a selection of sushi, sashimi, and nigiri. I’m so glad we did; the platter of goodness was presented beautifully, and it was whatever seafood was the freshest catch that day, which was served on this platter. The manager Giovanni, paired the sushi with a french wine-the acidity of it paired nicely with the sushi.
We ended our meal with chocolate “futomaki” aka “fat roll” and also the carrot cake. I was stuffed but finishing both desserts were absolutely worth it.
JRDN felt like I was on vacation, the view, the ambiance, the food, and service-everything contributed to a wonderfully satisfying dining experience and exceeded my expectations.
